                                                          About the Contest
                                                          Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration
                                                          Moot is known for being the most prestigious
                                                          international commercial arbitration court case
                                                          competition around the world. In 2017, participation
                                                          of 330 teams from 98 countries broke a record in the
                                                          history of the contest held in Hong Kong and Vienna.
                                                          The competition, which is intended for both doctrine
                                                          and practice in the international platform, consists of
                                                          two stages:
                                                          the written petition stage and the oral hearing stage in
                                                          spring. Drawing up two petitions as a defendant and
                                                          plaintiff, students match with 4 different universities
                                                          in hearing stage. Students, who seek for a career or
                                                          interested in international commercial arbitration,
                                                          have an opportunity to meet with important names
                                                          of both continental Europe and Anglo-Saxon doctrine
                                                          and enjoy a unique experience during the trials where
                                                          practice meets theory.
