Only active students can participate in the student education mobility program. On the other hand, newly graduated students may benefit from student internship activity with an amendment entered into force in the next semester. With this amendment, students who apply for an internship program as an active student may participate in internship mobility program between 2-12 months within 1 year following their graduation. If the students intend to benefit from the internship mobility after graduation, they have to apply for and be selected by a higher education institution during their active education life. The applications made after graduation are not accepted.

Students may benefit from Erasmus student mobility activities for 12 months in total with our without grant at any degree (undergraduate, master and PhD). If students received an education or internship grant in Lifelong Learning Program, this period will be deducted from 12 months for the mobility activity to be made in the same education degree. The higher education institution may give priority to the students who have not benefited from Erasmus mobility activities before in order to make the program available for as much students as possible.  In order to implement priority application in Erasmus+ term, 10 points are deducted from the general score of the students who have benefited from the activity before.

Our agency or higher education institutions are not responsible for providing accommodation to the people who will benefit from higher education student and personnel mobility activities. However, EU offices of host and home universities will give information about accommodation opportunities and share their experiences, if available.

Beneficiaries are responsible for visa procedures. During visa procedures, it is important to complete all the documents required by the consulate of the host country. In order to facilitate visa procedures of grantee students, home universities may issue an official letter indicating “s/he has been selected within the scope of higher education student mobility and will receive a grant of ..... per month”.

Students and personnel can only select the higher education institutions which have concluded an exchange agreement with their home university within the scope of higher education student education mobility and personnel lecturing mobility. However, you have the opportunity to lead an interacademic agreement when you share your demands and connections with the personnel at your university authorized to conduct interacademic agreement.

Interacademic agreements are concluded by authorized personnel of higher education institutions to offer mobility activities for certain number of student/personnel for certain periods between the faculties/departments of higher education institutions. Students are not capable of conducting interacademic agreement; however, they may help university personnel find partner institutions for mobility activities. Agreements cannot be signed for a single beneficiary, even if s/he has contributed the conclusion of the agreement. All agreements are concluded in the name of the university and available to all students.

Students may both do internship in the places recommended by higher education institutions and apply EU offices of their universities after they find a place for internship. Regardless of internship preference, the students who are selected according to selection criteria of relevant academic year may benefit from the mobility activity.

Academic and administrative personnel of higher education institutions may take part in this activity in order to improve themselves and share valuable experiences with their European colleagues.

The students who are intending to take part in mobility activities are required to have foreign language skills at a certain level.  They may not have to know the language of the host country. Although English is a common language in European countries, you may need to know the language of instruction at the host university. Therefore, students should know the language of instruction of the country, and improve their language skills before starting mobility activity. The students selected for international mobility are expected to learn whether their university provides necessary opportunities, if they want to improve their language skills by contacting with the EU offices at their university. Some universities try to improve the language skills of their students by organizing courses, while others provide financial support for their courses. In addition, the Commission is planning to offer online language support in certain languages in Erasmus+ term. Further details will be shared with higher education institutions when determined.
